A BE SAFE Interactive Screening is a community event that brings together teens and adults with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and similar disabilities, their families, teachers and staff, and local police. The audience views scenes from BE SAFE The Movie, an exciting new video that shows what to do and say in different types of encounters with the police. Then, participants and police do engaging activities from the Companion Curriculum together.

Join our very own acclaimed ornithologist, CBEC Executive Director Judy Wink, for a wild discussion on a fascinating yet over looked bird… the turkey. Who knew turkeys had such interesting sex lives? Be prepared to have fun and even participate in a turkey calling contest at the end of the lecture. What you learn at this session will make your next Thanksgiving dinner conversation a memorable one!

The Blacks of the Chesapeake Foundation presents a community and family celebration and living history project. Captain Eldridge Meredith is a 90 year old waterman turned charter boat captain and businessman. He has worked the Chesapeake Bay for more than 80 years! The BOC is developing educational programs, a book, documentary and traveling exhibit to be shared with schools, colleges, historical & cultural organizations. Public programs will be held in conjunction with the Smithsonian Institution as well.
