CENTREVILLE – The Queen Anne’s County Commissioners are looking for county citizens to serve on the Economic Development Commission. The deadline for applications is November 30, 2017.
The Economic Development Commission (EDC) meets the 4th Wednesday of every month and members serve a three-year-term.
The purpose of the commission is to develop a vibrant economy with the necessary human and business resources to provide the highest quality of life for all residents, while preserving the county’s distinctive cultural and environmental heritage.
The EDC investigates and assembles information pertaining to economic resources, industrial sites and opportunities and disseminates this information by publication, advertising or other means. They periodically survey the over-all condition of the county from the standpoint of determining whether the county has a community climate and furnishes such services and facilities as are conducive to industrial and economic expansion and makes recommendations to the Department of Planning and Zoning regarding the development of commercial projects.
