QAC Job Applications Are Now Paperless

CENTREVILLE – Those looking for a career with Queen Anne’s County government can now apply for all jobs as they become available.
“There will be no fussing with paper and no waiting for an application to be sent to you in the mail,” said Director of Human Resources Beverly Churchill. The application process will be much faster online. “You can more easily make deadlines since it will be sent to us automatically through the online system. To apply for a different job, it will fill in your stored information making it simpler to apply. Users can even upload resumes and certifications.”
Another convenient aspect is that you can apply from anywhere in the world you have internet access.
Those without internet access may come to the county’s Human Resources office and staff there will help you through the process. To reach them call 410-758-4406.
“After spending 29 years in human resources, managing the applications for jobs is very important,” said Commissioner Mark Anderson. “The primary goal is to fairly evaluate what each prospective employee brings. This new system facilitates the evaluation of the applicants that were interviewed as well as provides for electronic management of the applicant data base for retrieval for future job openings, required government reporting and ease of access. In my day in human resources we shuffled a lot of paper which leaves the potential for error and is time consuming for staff.”
To begin the process you go to the county’s website “Just as you can sign up on our website to receive articles about government and community news, you can also sign up to be notified when new job openings are posted,” Churchill said. “Our job advertisements will now be on the county’s social media sites such as Facebook and Twitter.”

To sign up go to then click the Notify Me graphic that looks like an envelope. Once there, scroll down to Government Jobs and you can select whether you want to be notified by an email or a text message.
While you’re on that page, check out the other categories such as News Flash, community events, etc. that interest you and subscribe to those as well.
Please note another important, yet separate feature, in which you may sign up to receive Emergency Notifications from the Sheriff’s Office and Emergency Services. The “Citizen Alert Notification Sign Up” logo is on the upper left side of the homepage and many internal pages as well, such as the Notify Me page.
Please take a minute to choose how you want to be notified of emergencies in your area, the area of your children’s schools, your office, etc.
