CHESTER - The Kent Island IHOP held a ribbon cutting ceremony Tuesday and welcomed the community to their newest location at the Red Apple Shopping Center in Chester.
This franchise restaurant is owned by Sattar Shaik of Harvest Hospitalities, a Virginia company. It is open from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and 6 a.m. to 12 a.m. Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Shaik said he has hired about 90 people, most of whom are local residents. Queen Anne’s County Commissioner Robert Buckey and Delegate Steven Arentz, District 36, attended the ceremony along with other community supporters. Shaik praised developer Didonato Properties and Queen Anne’s County for making the creation of this new business a smooth process. Shaik also said that he intends for this IHOP to be active in the community and support important local causes.
