To commemorate the opening of the Blue Heron Driving Range the Queen Anne’s County Commissioners held a brief ribbon cutting ceremony at 1 p.m. June 13, followed by free games, prizes and light refreshments.
The driving range is just south of the 18-hole Blue Heron Golf Course off of Rt. 8 on Kent Island. The property is owned by the county, and is protected from development by a Maryland Environmental Trust Easement.
Golfers can purchase tokens for the range machine at the Blue Heron Pro Shop and keep them in their car to use anytime. The Blue Heron Driving Range is open seven days a week from 7 a.m. until sunset.
