4th of July Celebration
Officers directing traffic Control posts will begin around 9:30 PM in the Kent Narrows area to allow event attendees to leave the area.
All traffic exiting from the event grounds and the old outlets parking area (Piney Narrows Rd) will turn right onto the ramp for Rt. 50 Westbound. No traffic will be allowed to turn left onto Piney Narrows Way towards Rt.18
All traffic exiting from the parking areas below the Westside of the Kent Narrows Bridge (Piney Narrows Road) will be directed onto Westbound Rt. 18. No traffic will be allowed to proceed towards the Rt. 50 Westbound Ramp from this location.
All traffic exiting from Piney Narrows Road (coming from TCP2) will be directed onto Westbound Rt. 18. No traffic will be allowed to turn left/travel Eastbound on Rt. 18. Through traffic will be traveling East and West on Rt. 18.
All traffic exiting Kent Narrows Way South will be directed onto Eastbound Main Street. No traffic will be allowed to turn left onto westbound Rt.18 from this location. Through traffic will be traveling East and West on Rt. 18.
All traffic exiting the Northern Kent Narrows Restaurant District (Kent Narrows Way North) and from the parking area under the Eastside of the Kent Narrows Bridge will be directed onto the ramp to Rt. 50 Westbound. No through traffic will be allowed to travel South on Kent Narrows Way North towards Rt. 18.
Cones and Barriers will be utilized at each traffic control point. Traffic control points will remain in effect until traffic flow has subsided and normal traffic patterns would suffice to manage the flow of traffic in the area.
Piney Narrows Road at the entrance to the Old Outlets will be blocked beginning at 3:00 pm the day of the event. All drivers will be stopped and either directed to park or must show identification that they are working the event or live / work on Piney Narrows Road past the blockage. This will remain until the end of the event.
Queen Anne’s County Independence Day Celebration - Official Press Release
KENT NARROWS - Fireworks will light up the Kent Narrows sky July 3, as part of Queen Anne's County Independence Day Celebration that includes family fun, food, music and of course the fireworks. The rain date for fireworks only is July 5. Admission and parking are free.
Parking for the event will be at the old Kent Narrows Factory Outlets and all Kent Narrows public-parking areas.
Festivities begin at 6 p.m. on the waterfront grounds of Chesapeake Exploration Center, located on the northwest side of Kent Narrows off Piney Narrows Road. Vendors will be on hand to sell treats, such as hot dogs, hamburgers, pit pork and beef, popcorn, funnel cakes, and other festival food and drinks.
The up-close-and-personal view of the fireworks display begins at 9:20 p.m. Children’s rides are free compliments of the Bay Times and Record Observer newspapers. Blankets and lawn chairs are recommended for prime fireworks-viewing and comfort.
