[ARCHIVED] KIHS Student Awarded Maryland Emergency Management Association Scholarship

Emergency Management Association Scholarship

Queen Anne’s County Department of Emergency Services is thrilled to announce that Jadyn Brooke, one of our talented students, has been awarded the Maryland Emergency Management Association (MDEMA) scholarship!

Jadyn, a 2024 graduate of Kent Island High School, excelled in the Homeland Security Pathway, receiving Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) training. This program equips volunteers with essential disaster preparedness and response skills, including Fire Safety, Light Search & Rescue, Team Organization, Disaster Medical Operations, and overall Disaster Preparedness.

This fall, Jadyn will be attending West Virginia University to major in Forensic Biology with a minor in Geographic Information System Mapping (GIS). We are confident that she will make a significant impact in the field of Emergency Management.

"We are incredibly proud of Jadyn's achievements and dedication to the field of emergency management," said Scott Haas, Director of the Queen Anne’s County Department of Emergency Services. "Her receipt of the MDEMA scholarship is a testament to her hard work and commitment. We look forward to following her journey and seeing the positive influence she will have on our community and beyond."
