Make sure to remove your Christmas tree after the holidays or when it is dry. Dry trees are a fire hazard and should not be left in the home, garage, or placed outside against a structure.Dry Christmas trees can catch fire quickly which places your family at risk. Nearly one-third of U.S. home fires that begin with Christmas Trees occur in January. When you remove the lights, check for damaged or worn cords and get rid of them. County Transfer Stations (dumps) will take Christmas Trees for free through the end of January.
