Queen Anne’s County announces the largest jump in reported positive COVID-19 cases to date. Today an additional six positive cases were reported bringing the total positive cases to 26.
While the numbers are still climbing, this is due in part, to the greater availability of testing materials and the increased testing being been done at our Alternate Test Facility located at Chesapeake College.
We do expect our numbers to continue to climb and don’t believe we have hit our spike yet. We want to thank the citizens of Queen Anne’s County for their diligence in social distancing and their part to slow the spread of this disease.
Reporting the positive cases is not to cause panic but to be informative and ensure our citizens have the most up the date information. It is not yet the time to reduce our precautions as we are still heading up the curve but to ask our citizens to continue with social distancing and staying at home unless for essential work or business.
This is a rapidly changing event so follow us on social media @QACGOV and qac.org online for the latest updates to county government. For the latest information on COVID-19 follow Queen Anne’s County Department of Health @QADOH and qahealth.org
