Queen Anne’s County Asks Customers to Utilize Online Systems

 

Queen Anne’s County we would like to make sure you have all the information you need for the upcoming tax season. We are encouraging citizens with county business to utilize as many services by email, telephone or online. The county remains open for business, and much business can be done without any face to face contact. Any visitors showing signs of illness will not be permitted in any buildings.

Department of Budget, Finance and Information Technology 

 We are encouraging all residents to make payments:

  1. Using the secure drop box, which is in the front lobby vestibule at The Liberty Building, 107 N Liberty St, Centreville.
  2. Using the County’s online bill payment system to process tax or utility billing and assessment payments. www.qacpay.com  
  3. By mailing in their payments to Treasury Office, PO Box 267, Centreville, MD 21617            

 A limited number of staff members are available by phone or email to assist with online payments. Tax payments made via credit cards will continue to be assessed a 2.39% processing fee. Tax payments made via electronic check will be assessed a $0.50 processing fee. Utility bill payments will be charged $2.25 for transactions up to $150 and $6.25 for transactions over $150 with a $400 maximum payment.

Department of Planning and Zoning

The Department of Planning and Zoning is open; however, residents are strongly encouraged to submit building permit and project applications by placing forms in the drop box located at the front counter of the Department in the Vincit Building. All permit and planning forms will be available at the front counter, and a dedicated telephone line has been installed at the counter so that the public may confer with Department staff. For those who do wish to submit applications directly, citizens are encouraged to practice social distancing at the permit counter by limiting entry to 3 customers at a time, remaining 6 feet apart while waiting in line, and wearing a mask at all times and in all areas in the building.

Residents are also encouraged to contact the Department staff by telephone or email in advance, as much business may be conducted remotely via email and fax. Department inspectors will be conducting inspections that will be completed as safely and as responsibly as possible.

Projects submitted for Staff Technical Advisory Committee review will be reviewed remotely by appropriate staff and comments will be provided in writing (via email, fax, or paper mail in accordance with applicant request). Project meetings and consultations will be conducted by virtual meeting only.

The Chesapeake Heritage and Visitors Center located at 425 Piney Narrows Road in Chester has had a recent renovation and is open to the public weekdays from 8:00 am till 4:00 pm. We look forward to showing you all the new features. They can be reached by phone at (410)604-2100

Department of Community Services

The Area Agency on Aging, Local Management Board and Housing and Community Services are still seeing clients.  Call (410)-758-0848 for assistance.  

 All Transit/County Ride services are currently operating as normal.  Call (410)-758-2357 for assistance.  

Senior Centers

The Maryland Department of Aging still has all Senior Centers across the state closed at this time. Queen Anne’s County Senior Centers (Grasonville, Kent Island, and Sudlersville) are closed for all Senior Center activities until further notice. If any seniors need resources during this time, please contact the Area Agency on Aging office at: (410)-758-0848.
