Individuals Needed to Serve on Administrative Charging Committee

 

The Queen Anne’s County Commissioners and the Police Accountability Board Are Seeking Individuals to Serve on the Administrative Charging Committee.

 

Some of the functions of the Administrative Charging Committee are:

 

Review the findings of a law enforcement agency’s investigation; make a determination as to whether or not to administratively charge the police officer who is the subject of the investigation, if the police officer is charged, recommend discipline in accordance with the law enforcement agency’s disciplinary matrix, review any body camera footage that may be relevant to the matters covered in the complaint of misconduct, authorize a police officer called to appear before an administrative charging committee to be accompanied by a representative, issue a written opinion that describes in details its findings, determinations, and recommendations and forward the written opinion to the chief of the law enforcement agency, the police officer, and the complainant.

 

Individuals selected for the committee shall receive training on matters relating to police procedures from the Maryland Police Training and Standards Commission.
