QAC Parks N Recreation Seeks Community Input for Skatepark Design
Last year Queen Anne’s County Parks and Recreation announced funding for the construction of a skate park on Kent Island. County Commissioners recently approved a contract with the American Ramp Company for the design and construction of the park. The site that was selected is located at the end of Cockey Lane in Stevensville. The next part of this process is the design and construction phase.
This grassroot effort for a skateboard facility was spearheaded by community members including several teens. During a public meeting where the idea was presented to the Parks and Recreation Advisory Board, community members expressed an interest in being involved in the design element of the park. A key requirement of the contract with American Ramp Company is solicit input from the community users to get a list of ideas and wants for the facility. In order to achieve this, they have created an on line link to a survey, https://americanrampcompany.com/surveys/terrapin-skatepark/ .
The survey link is shareable and will be open only from Friday 2/17 to Friday 2/24/23. Please share with others, we want to hear from you!!
