Sergant Eric M. Houck, 25 of Baltimore Maryland died on June 10 in Peka Valley, Nangarhar Province, of gunshot wounds, the Defense Department said in a press release. The incident is under investigation.
The Soldiers were assigned to Headquarters and Headquarters Battery, 3rd Battalion, 320th Field Artillery Regiment, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) and Company D, 1st Battalion, 187th Infantry Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault), Fort Campbell, KY.
His remains will be escorted from Dover Air Force Base to Bel Air Maryland on Saturday June 17, 2017. They will be departing by 8:00 am from Dover.
The escort will come down Route 19 from 313 and will then proceed north on 301. If you would like to pay your respects the escort should reach Route 19 and 301 between 8:30 and 9:00 am on Saturday morning.
