Hi Community Leaders,
Haven Ministries Homeless Shelter is opening today, Friday, July 28 starting at 11am in response to citizens needing longer term shelter after the tornado. The shelter will be open 24 hours from 11am today until Monday, July 31 at 7:30am at our designated space - Kent Island United Methodist Church in Chester. Starting on Monday, July 31, the shelter will be open 5pm-7:30am with transportation services from the shelter to the resource center at St Paul's Episcopal Church for daytime services, Centerville (and back again). As the week progresses, we will assess the need to determine how long we will remain open as a disaster relief shelter.
If someone needs shelter care - please send them to the shelter at Kent Island United Methodist Church at the above mentioned times - second floor: 2739 Cox Neck Rd, Chester. The number to call specific to shelter: 410-739-7859.
If anyone needs food, clothing, household cleaning supplies, hygiene products - they can see one of our volunteers or staff at the Red Cross Crisis Response Center at Matapeake Elementary School (we are there now until Thursday) or call 410-739-4363
