Character Counts! Volunteers Make a Positive Impact on QAC Youth

For twenty-three years in Queen Anne’s County, the Character Counts! Initiative has worked to increase character education by offering resources, training, and information about the Six Pillars of Character: Trustworthiness, Respect, Responsibility, Fairness, Caring and Citizenship. The initiative has consistently shown increases in student attendance, academic achievement, positive behavior choices, and a more positive sense of self and future. QAC Free Laptop Program Offering FREE Chromebooks to Qualified Households

The Queen Anne’s County Community Partnerships for Children and Families, also known as our Local Management Board (LMB), has partnered with the Area Agency on Aging and the Queen Anne's County Library to launch the QAC Free Laptop Program. This initiative, supported by funding from the Maryland Department of Housing and Community Development, aims to promote digital equity and inclusion by providing 2,000 Chromebook laptops to eligible households. The program seeks to address the technology access barriers faced by households with limited financial resources.

Starting June 1, 2023, the QAC Free Laptop Program will provide new HP Chromebook 14 G7 or equivalent devices to eligible households in Queen Anne's County on a first come first basis until all 2,000 laptops have been distributed. Read more here https://www.qac.org/CivicAlerts.aspx?AID=2436

Out of school time grant now open from June 1-30

Funding Opportunity to Support Children and Families in Queen Anne’s County

The Queen Anne’s County Department of Community Services Local Management Board (LMB) is pleased to announce the availability of Out of School Time Grant for After School/Out of School Time Programs and Clubs. The Queen Anne’s County Commissioners have proposed $100,000 in their fiscal year 2024 budget to fund additional Out of School Time activities.

Applications open from June 1, 2023, through the end of day on June 30, 2023.
