Queen Anne's County Government Offices will close at noon on Friday, August 23 at noon for our Annual Employee Picnic. This includes the Finance Office and Planning and Zoning Counter. We appreciate your patience. Offices will re open for normal business on Monday, August 26

We will also be closed on Monday, September 2 for Labor Day.

Queen Anne’s County Achieves Significant Land Preservation Milestone

Queen Anne’s County is proud to announce that the County's preserved agricultural land now totals 90,343 acres, pending the settlement of an additional 1,830 acres. Queen Anne’s County 4-H Park Receives Major Infrastructure Upgrades

The Queen Anne’s County 4-H Park was the recipient of a total $1.5 million grant from the Rural Economic Development Fund, in partnership with the state of Maryland in 2022/2023. The monies were also approved by the Queen Anne’s County Commissioners. QAC Commission on Aging Leads Insightful Tours of Queen Anne’s County Senior Centers

On Thursday, June 20, County Commissioner Jim Moran, alongside staff and the Commission on Aging members, hosted tours of the four senior centers across Queen Anne’s County. QAC Animal Services to Participate in Maryland 3000 Adoption Challenge

For the month of August, adoption fees will be waived for all participating animal shelters and rescues across Maryland as part of the Maryland 3000 adoption challenge. What Areas in QAC is Flooded?

The Queen Anne’s County Department of Emergency Services is collecting pictures of flooding across Queen Anne’s County so that we can relay them to our First Responders and our partners at the National Weather Service. Please post your pictures and/or reports, along with an approximate location and time, email them to our Emergency Managers at DES_Special_Ops@qac.org. Please remain safe and avoid walking or driving through floodwaters!

Due to ongoing extreme heat and a dangerous heat index, the County Cooling Centers are available for any community members in need of a cool retreat until August 30, 2024. The Department of Community Services will be opening their buildings for use by the public with ice and water available. Traffic / Road Closures

Maryland Department of Transportation will be closing the MD 405 median crossover at US 301 in Queen Anne’s County on Monday, July 29. The closure restricts all movements through the median and will remain in effect until further notice.

The US 50/301 Ramp Management Pilot Program continues this weekend. 
These detours will be active from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturdays, Sundays, and Labor Day. Detour signs will direct motorists to MD 18 east to Castle Marina Road south to westbound US 50. 
• Duke Street will be closed and blocked at the intersection of Duke Street and Island Plaza Court (AKA Cleet Street). Traffic exiting from US 50/301 can access the gas station at 101 Duke Street and get back onto US 50/301 west. Traffic coming off of US 50/301 cannot get to other local destinations on MD 18 or beyond. 
• MD 8 (Business Parkway/Romancoke Road, Exit 37) will also be closed. Drivers will continue to have access exiting US 50/301 onto MD 8 and MD 18 but will not have access to enter onto westbound US 50 at these locations.
