Queen Anne’s County Planning & Zoning Provides Update on Citizen Access Portal
At the recent County Commissioners meeting, Queen Anne’s County Planning & Zoning Director Amy Moredock and Department staff provided an update on the progress of the Planning & Zoning Citizen Access Portal. A dedicated Implementation and Management Workgroup, including Lauren Pyle, Megan Peek, Brian Barnshaw, Vivian Swinson, John Shelton, Kendall Larrimore, Laura Foster, and Ann Johnson, has been instrumental in the portal’s success.
Since its launch on October 21, 2024, the portal has significantly improved access to permits, licenses, and zoning information for residents and businesses.
The portal allows users to:
- Search public records, including permits, plans, inspections, code cases, and licenses.
- Apply for permits, plans, and licenses online.
- Pay invoices through a simplified digital system.
- Access zoning and subdivision code information for Queen Anne’s County.
So far, the portal has seen 52 types of permits made available online, with 150 active user accounts and 220 permit applications [AM1] submitted electronically. The platform also provides real-time permit tracking, department review status updates, and a streamlined payment process, making it easier for users to navigate the system.
Looking ahead, Planning & Zoning is working to expand the portal’s capabilities to include electrical licensing (professional), liquor licensing (business), and planning applications.
The team encourages citizens with questions about how to register and use the site to reach out directly to Ms. Pyle who is the portal system administrator. For more information and to access the Planning & Zoning Citizen Access Portal, visit the dedicated website.
