The Queen Anne’s County Area Agency on Aging invites you to join us in recognizing National Health Care Decisions Day (NHDD), on April 16, 2018. The goal of NHDD is to promote awareness of advance directives as a way of planning ahead of a health crisis. Currently only 30 percent of Marylanders have an advance directive.
Advance directives can be a powerful tool to support medical care that aligns with personal values. Documenting important health care preferences in advance promotes an individual’s right to self-determination. It can also cut down on mistakes in health care treatment paths and avoid difficult decisions during a crisis.
