Queen Anne’s County Department of Emergency Services is pleased to announce that our transport units have been outfitted with Sensory Sacks - packaged materials and toys to aid sensory overloaded children and adults when being cared for and transported by our staff. These materials ideally will help individuals cope and communicate during a stressful event. These bags were acquired through the “Start 'Em Early Foundation” who specialize in bringing Autism Awareness to Fire, Police, and EMS personnel. Special thanks to Emergency Medical Technician, Otis Darling for handling this initiative for our department; we are excited to have these materials available to our community!
