Queen Anne’s County Department of Emergency Services Announces AED Donation Program
The Queen Anne’s County Department of Emergency Services, in partnership with the Queen Anne’s County Department of Health and with funding from the CDC Health Disparities Grant, is proud to announce the launch of a new AED Donation Program. This initiative aims to enhance community safety by providing 10 Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) to nonprofit organizations within Queen Anne’s County.
The AED Donation Program is designed to equip nonprofits with lifesaving technology that can make a critical difference in emergencies. Eligible organizations that receive an AED will be responsible for conducting monthly maintenance checks, replacing pads as needed, and ensuring that their staff is properly trained to operate the device.
“We are thrilled to offer this opportunity to our local nonprofits,” said Scott Haas, Emergency Services Director. “This program is a vital step in our ongoing efforts to address health disparities and ensure that every corner of our community is prepared to respond to sudden cardiac events.”
Nonprofit organizations interested in participating are encouraged to apply online through the AED Donation Program Application. The deadline for applications is September 23, 2024. Selected organizations will be notified using the contact information provided in their application. https://form.jotform.com/242304942664053
