Final Weekend for US 50/301 Ramp Management Pilot Program: Closures in Effect Saturday, Sunday, and Monday

This weekend marks the final days of the US 50/301 Ramp Management Pilot Program, with ramp closures set to be in effect on Saturday, Sunday, and Monday. As part of the effort to maintain traffic flow and prioritize emergency access on MD 18 (Main Street), the following detours will be active from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM each day:

  • Duke Street (Exit 38): Closed at the intersection with Island Plaza Court (Cleet Street). Traffic exiting US 50/301 can still access the gas station at 101 Duke Street and return to US 50/301 westbound. However, traffic from US 50/301 will not be able to access local destinations on MD 18 or beyond.
  • MD 8 (Business Parkway/Romancoke Road, Exit 37): Closed for westbound access. Drivers exiting US 50/301 onto MD 8 and MD 18 will not be able to re-enter westbound US 50 from these locations.

This pilot program, a collaboration between Queen Anne’s County and the Maryland State Highway Administration (SHA), aims to keep westbound traffic on US 50/301 while preserving MD 18 for local residents and emergency responders.

Overhead and portable message signs along US 50/301 will continue to alert motorists to these access changes. Travelers are strongly encouraged to plan ahead by checking live traffic conditions using MDTA traffic cameras and advisories at chart.maryland.gov.
