Mary Margaret Revell Goodwin County Historian for Queen Anne's County hosted a workshop on Historic Property Tax Incentives on March 18 at the Liberty Building in Centreville. The event was well attended by county residents and businesses.
Staff from the State Department of Housing and Community Development, Division of Neighborhood Revitalization and Maryland Historical Trust presented information and answered questions related to potential state income tax credits available for restoration on historic properties. Eligibility requirements for commercial and residential properties were discussed with an emphasis on Sustainable Communities program designed to encourage inter-agency and cross-governmental collaboration.
