Chesapeake Mermaid spotlight

Kids can dress as their favorite character for story time and learn about the history of the Chesapeake Bay from a mermaid’s perspective and then meet Larvey, the magical Bivalvian. Stay for one-on-one meet and greets, autographs and photo opportunities on an Queen Anne’s County pier backdrop. A mermaid face painter will also be present to help transform each guest into their favorite sea, or land creature.

All guests will be able to leave with free Polaroid photo with the Chesapeake Mermaid. Take home a copy of the book The Last Bivalvian. Story time is free. Books are $10 for a paperback and $20 for the hardcover, both of which may be purchased on site, or in advance from ChesapeakeMermaid.com, or on Amazon. Attendees will also be able to enjoy Chesapeake Bay themed sweets and blue punch.

The Chesapeake Heritage & Visitor Center features a quarterly rotating artist series with an emphasis on the Eastern Shore, and a museum dedicated to the history, heritage, and culture of the area. Also located on the property is the entrance to Ferry Point Park which includes a 530 foot boardwalk that takes visitors over marsh and onto a trail leading to open space, a wooded area, and a beach overlooking the Chester River.
