matapeake landing area

The parking lot at Matapeake will be closed for paving for at least two days beginning on November 13. If weather conditions delay the paving schedule, the facility will be closed until paving operations are completed.

Matapeake Landing includes Matapeake Fishing Pier and Boat Ramp.  An alternative fishing site is Romancoke Fishing Pier. Other nearby boat ramps include Shipping Creek Landing, Kent Narrows Landing and eight other boat ramps in Queen Anne’s County.

Fishing enthusiasts and boaters are encouraged to check qac.org or call Queen Anne’s County Department of Parks and Recreation at 410-758-0835 for updates about the status of the Matapeake Landing paving project and general information about public landings.

The paving project is part of an ongoing preventative maintenance effort for county facilities. Matapeake Landing is state-owned property that is leased and managed by Queen Anne’s County. The paving project is 100% funded by a Maryland Department of Natural Resources Waterway Improvement Grant. David A. Bramble, Inc. of Chestertown, MD is the paving contractor.
