Boater’s Safety Course Offered May 14-16
CENTREVILLE – With spring just around the corner, it’s the perfect time to think about getting your Boater’s Safety Certification. Queen Anne’s County Parks and Recreation and Wear It Maryland are sponsoring a three evening course May 14-16, 2019 from 6-9pm. The registration fee is $30 and is offered to participants over the age of 12.
Learn boating skills in the classroom with a skilled instructor and earn your valid certificate of boating safety from the Maryland Department of Natural Resources. The topics that will be covered include types of vessels, Maryland regulations, what to do in an emergency, navigational aids, marine weather, paddlecraft responsibility, personal watercraft safety and much more. This course meets the Maryland Boating Safety Education Act requirement needed for persons born on or after July 1, 1972, to operate a motorized vessel on Maryland waters.
