The Commissioners March 26th meeting began with a closed administrative session from 4 to 5:30pm to discuss Boards & Commissions followed by consult with counsel and personnel.

Boards & Commission Appointments:

Electrical Examiners & Supervisors – Gary Reedy

Ethics Commission – Jerry Jordan, Patricia Jean Jamison and Gail Malle-Davis-Alternate

Broadband Advisory Committee - Adam Weinstein and Jacob Wargotz

Social Services Advisory Board – Catherine Kirchner and Michelle Morrissette

Bay Bridge Airport Advisory Committee - Craig Conrad

  2. 214 Pier One Road LLC PWA – this is the Old Toll House building property being developed with 20,632 sf of commercial space and 60 apartments, sewer and water allocation was granted last year (7,025 gpd). - Approved
  3. 2011 CWSP Amendment 11-13 – Ponchock property seeking upgraded sewer service designation from S3 to S2 in Bay City. - Denied

  3. Request for Economic Development Incentive Funding – recommendation for the disbursement of $208,063 from the EDIF fund to Corsica Technologies Inc. – Approved
  4. Draft Standard Operating Policy – proposed amendment to the Employee Recognition Policy to incorporate the service award bonus program. - Approved
  5. Detention Center Uniform Bid – annual bid for correctional officers’ uniforms. – Approved
  6. Phone System upgrade – Emergency Services and Sheriff – recommended purchase of the Mitel phone system upgrade to be consistent with phone systems in all other county facilities. –Approved
  7. Road Name Request - request to name a private lane in Romancoke to Craft Lane. - Approved
  8. DHCD – National Objective Issues CDBG Program - proposal to broaden the scope of job creation from 60 to 130 at the Matapeake Industrial Park (Phase 2 of the Development) and extends the deadline for this requirement to February 20, 2021. - Tabled
  9. Mosquito Control Section 2019 budget – This is the annual MDA cost share budget for local Mosquito Control services. – Approved
  10. BOE – Major State Categories Transfers – Approved
  11. BOE – Use of additional Fund Balance as a funding source - Approved
  12. Budget Amendment CC-19 – Community Partnerships CASA START – Approved
  13. Budget Amendment CC-20 – Community Partnerships RDEF Program – Approved

The Tax offset Hearing for incorporated towns was held and we had representatives from Centreville, Church Hill, Queen Anne and Queenstown met with the Board.

A budget work session was held for Parks & Recreation and Emergency Services.
