[ARCHIVED] County Administrator Todd Mohn Wraps Up the April 9th QAC Commissioners' Meeting

The Commissioners April 9th regular meeting started at 5:00 pm with a 30-minute closed session including Boards & Commissions followed by Personnel.

Board & Commission Appointments:
Spending Affordability Committee Appointment - John Wilson was reappointed 
Liquor Board Appointment – Tim Hibbard was appointed

I was officially sworn in as County Administrator

1. Systematic Replacement of Fleet Vehicles – F450 Crew Cab – This is a replacement vehicle purchase for the Solid Waste Division Fleet via a pre-established government contract ($78,316) -Approved
2. Systematic Replacement of Fleet Vehicles – Containers – For replacement of four 40-yard roll-off containers via a pre-established government contract ($27,778) -Approved
3. Historic Christ Church Resolution – This resolution declares the historic Christ Church Property as “surplus” and no longer needed for government/public purposes and allows the sale or other rededication of the property to take place in the future. -Approved

DHCD – National Objective Issues CDBG Program - Repeat of DHCD’s proposal to broaden the scope of job creation at the Matapeake Industrial Park to include Phase 2 of the Development increasing number of jobs to be created to 130 and extending the deadline for this requirement to February 20, 2021 – Approved 
6. Town of Queenstown – Fireworks & Permitting funding request – sponsorship request for fireworks at VFD annual fair in Queenstown – Approved for $5,000 and Approved $5,000 for Town of Centreville and Sudlersville for $5,000 each 
7. Budget Amendment CC-23 – 4 Seasons Exactions/Critical Interconnections – this is for the County water main project from Kent Narrows/Piney Narrows Rd to Dundee Ave (3,700 lf of 12-inch water main connecting to Stevensville Water system)- Approved 
8. Budget Amendment CC-25 – 4-H Park – provides additional funding for bathroom remodeling, replacement well, electrical work and LED lighting - Approved

Tomorrow April 13th, we are dedicating the new Circuit Courthouse. Come and see the Grand Master of the Grand Lodge of Ancient Free & Accepted Masons of Maryland perform the traditional cornerstone dedication ritual followed by a several guest speakers…we don’t do this very often, like about every 200 years and its free and open to the public! The Ceremony begins at 10am rain or shine.
