Questions and Concerns about Confirmed Case in Queen Anne’s County
Earlier today, Queen Anne’s County Health Officer, Joseph A. Ciotola, Jr., M.D., announced the first confirmed case of COVID-19 in Queen Anne’s County, Maryland. Many citizens have concerns and questions about this confirmed case.
We are following HIPPA laws which protect a person’s privacy especially in this situation. We cannot release any additional information at this time.
Our Health Department staff is well trained and extremely competent in doing investigations. As we receive up-to-date information it will be released.
We are asking our residents not to panic and to continue with the recommendations of social distancing and if you are having symptoms to contact your primary care physician. Persons who have been exposed to the virus have the potential to infect others before they display symptoms.
