QAC Monitoring Isaias

Queen Anne’s County Monitoring Hurricane Isaias

Queen Anne’s County Department of Emergency Services, urges Queen Anne’s County residents to prepare as we closely monitor the track of Hurricane Isaias.

We understand that your planning may look different this year due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. You may want to give yourself additional time to prepare your emergency supplies. A list of what should be in your emergency supplies can be found here Make sure that you add, face coverings for everyone in your household and hand sanitizer to your go bag. Home delivery or curbside pick-up is still safest but if you need to go shopping for supplies, be sure to continue wearing a mask and practicing social distancing. It’s always suggested to fill any prescriptions that may run out during the emergency. We suggest you limit in-person visits to the pharmacy by utilizing delivery or drive through windows.

Queen Anne’s County has many flood prone areas, for a map of areas that could be affected go to and search “flood maps”.  It is recommended that residents living in flood prone areas make alternative arrangements of a place to stay during a flooding event. If your plan includes staying with friends or family, make sure you are taking precautions to protect everyone from COVID-19. Take into consideration if someone in one of your households is at a higher risk for developing severe illness from COVID-19. Precautions include: frequent hand washing, avoiding close contact, cover cough and sneezes, cleaning and disinfecting frequently touches surfaces daily and monitoring your health daily for any symptoms of COVID-19.
