Nichole Hepfer Named Director of Budget & Finance
Queen Anne’s County announces that Nichole Hepfer has been named as Director of Budget & Finance. Nichole most recently served as the county Accounting Supervisor since 2015. She has been with Queen Anne’s County Budget & Finance for 14 years and began as Accountant II. Prior to joining county government Nichole worked in the private industry.
Nichole stood out because of her many accomplishments while working for the county. She was responsible for the counties financial audit and issuance of the Comprehensive Annual Financial Report for the last 10 years, of which the county continues to receive the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting every year.
Nichole is enthusiastic about helping the department transition to a new software program, creating efficiencies where possible and continuing to serve the changing needs of the county.

Nichole has lived in Maryland her entire life and moved to Queen Anne’s County in 2006 where she currently lives with her husband Frank and three daughters. She received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting from the University of Baltimore and is a certified public accountant and member of MACPA, GFOA and MD GFOA.

Nichole’s first task as director is finishing up the budget process for fiscal year 2022.
