AED county parks

To ensure our parks and trails are safe for all our users, the Department of Parks and Recreation is now in the process of installing Automatic External Defibrillators (AED) at various park sites.  The next 10 sites are listed below:

  • Old Love Point Park
  • Mowbray Park
  • Matapeake Beach and Clubhouse
  • Route 18 Park
  • Church Hill Park
  • Pinkney Park
  • Conquest Pavilion
  • Terrapin Nature Park Ranger Station and Restroom
  • Macum Creek Restroom (along the Cross-Island Trail)
  • A mobile unit with a Ranger

In 2019, Girl Scout Gold Award recipient, Caroline Hazuda purchased and installed the department’s first AED at White Marsh Park. County Commissioners declared October 6, 2020 as Girl Scout Caroline Hazuda Day to recognize her for demonstrating her leadership and love for the community and for her extraordinary effort to save lives with her Centreville Heartbeat Initiative project.

The department will continue to add more AED’s to various sites in the future.
