In 2019, Girl Scout Gold Award recipient, Caroline Hazuda purchased and installed the department’s first AED at White Marsh Park. County Commissioners declared October 6, 2020 as Girl Scout Caroline Hazuda Day to recognize her for demonstrating her leadership and love for the community and for her extraordinary effort to save lives with her Centreville Heartbeat Initiative project.
The department will continue to add more AED’s to various sites in the future.
