Social Services Board Appointments
The Board appointed Laura Summers Roth, Michael Francis and Robert Tessier to the Social Services Advisory Board to serve a three-year term ending on June 30, 2024.

- Contract for Playground Equipment - Rt. 18 Park
This is a contract with Game Time c/o Cunningham Recreation to purchase, construct and install a playground at the Route 18 Park. The current playground is the second oldest site in our inventory. It is also undersized for the amount of use it receives. This project expands the playground size and components to users up to 12 years old. Game Time is part of the OMNIA Cooperative Purchasing agreement. A significant amount of our playgrounds are from the same manufacturer, making repairs and spare parts more efficient and easier to obtain. It is recommended to award the playground to Game Time c/o Cunningham Recreation via the OMNIA purchasing agreement in the amount of $68,728.59. Funds are available in the FY22 CAPITAL PROJECT #40909 PLAYGROUND FUND. APPROVED 5-0
- Chino Farms – Grasslands Planation Phase I and Phase II -
Release of Rural Legacy Easement
In November 2001, Queen Anne’s County partnered with the State of Maryland to place a Rural legacy easement on 3,612 acres (Phase I). There was an additional 1,488 acres (Phase II) placed in a Rural Legacy easement of which DNR and QAC are the co-Grantees. Chino Farms is in the process of transferring fee simple interest on these properties to Washington College. In addition, the College is going to acquire and extinguish all remaining development rights owned by Grasslands Plantation. DNR would like to determine if QAC would be interested in assigning its interest as a co-Grantee of the easement to DNR. There are no negative impacts to the County releasing our interest on this Rural Legacy easement. APPROVED 5-0
- BOE – Transfer of Funds Between Major State Categories
This is for the approval of transfers to increase salary enhancements for BOE employees in the amount of 373,819. The transfer will be from other internal salary categories. APPROVED 5-0
- Budget Amendment CC-1 – Athletic Field Work
This is for the contract with MUSCO Lighting to install athletic field lights at White Marsh Park in the amount of $1,284,148. Partial revenue funding will come from a State POS grant in the amount of $1,000,000. The remaining $284,148 will come from Prior Year Fund Balance. APPROVED 5-0
- Budget Amendment CC-2 –Economic Development Grant Funding
Economic Development received a $166,668 grant from the Department of Housing and Community Development (DHCD) called the American Recue Plan: Nonprofits-local Government Program Grant. This amendment establishes authority for the Department of Economic Development to utilize $166,668 of funds to provide grants to local nonprofits that demonstrate need. No County funds are requested. APPROVED 5-0

County Ordinance 21-06 - Accessory Structures inside Yards of Property Abutting Two Streets.
This bill proposes to add a provision to permit residential accessory structures in the front yards of corner and double frontage lots. The proposed text amendment will streamline the process by eliminating the need for applicants to obtain a variance from the yard locational standards prior to building permit approval.
