Queen Anne’s County Animal Services is now offering a free Trap Neuter Release program (TNR). Each cat that is part of this program is spayed or neutered, vaccinated and ear tipped so they can be easily identified as part of the program, then returned to the original home. TNR is the most humane and effective method of dealing with unwanted litters, reducing the number of strays and it saves the taxpayers thousands by keeping them out of the shelter. TNR is a proven effective strategy for stopping the spread of stray and feral cats in your community.
To participate in the program, cats must be brought into the shelter for surgery in an approved trap. You can rent an approved trap from our shelter for on $25.00.
For more information about the program or to sign up contact Queen Anne’s County Animal Services at (410)827-7178 or visit qac.org/TNR
