Keep your animals safe provide them with Warm Shelter….
Animal Control will be increasing patrols and courtesy calls this week to ensure all pets have the required shelter and materials mandated by the County Regulations. Owners requiring assistance keeping their animals warm please contact Queen Anne’s County Animal Control 410-758-2393 or The Animal Welfare League 410-827-7178.
Shelters must be structurally sound, have weatherproof roof, flap or offset outer door, warm dry bedding consisting of wood shavings, straw or other nonabsorbent material, if there is no heat source structure must be small enough to allow animals to warm the interior but large enough to provide ease of entry and normal postural adjustments. Queen Anne’s County prohibits tethering of your dog unless the dog is in visual range of a responsible party, and the responsible party is outside with the dog.
