The 2nd Annual Queen Anne’s County History Summit will be held 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Nov. 12 at the Holiday Inn Kent Narrows, all are invited to attend this free event.
The principal speaker for the morning session is Owen Lurie of Maryland State Archives and his topic is Finding the Maryland 400: Maryland’s First War Heroes.
The event is organized by QAC Historian Mary Margaret Revell Goodwin. Other topics include: Queen Anne’s County’s US Colored Troops, James Kirwan and the Kirwan Museum Plans, Watermen’s History, Railroad Presentation, History of Law Enforcement in the county, a First Look at the New QAC History Data Base Web Site, followed by a public discussion of archaeology and historic sites protection measures. Attendees are encouraged to bring their lunch.
