What impending challenges and opportunities lie ahead for our economy? Dr. Memo Diriker, founding director of BEACON at Salisbury University, will deliver his expert analysis of the financial climate at the QAC Economic Outlook Symposium 2017 on Tuesday, March 21.
The conference is presented by the Queen Anne’s County Department of Economic Development and the county’s Economic Development Commission.
“Attendees will learn about current business conditions, economic performance and emerging trends that will impact not only our area, but also the state and nation in 2017 and beyond,” said Jean Fabi, Acting Director of QAC’s Department of Economic Development.
Keynote Speaker Diriker’s experience with the Business, Economic, and Community Outreach Network offers a local, national and international perspective, while Jim DiDonato, a Queen Anne’s County business leader, will address the local business climate. Discussions continue with the state’s assessment, delivered by Steve Pennington from the Maryland Department of Commerce, who will also give an overview of the Enterprise Zone program.
The March 21 symposium will be held at the Chesapeake Bay Environmental Center, 600 Discovery Lane in Grasonville, from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. Seating is limited, and the $35 tickets, which include breakfast, will be sold on a first come basis.
