CCCT Project Updates
Queen Anne's County will have a ceremonial ribbon cutting on November 1, 2019 at 11:00 AM officially announcing the opening of the The Cross County Connector Trail. This will be held on the boardwalk near the Holiday Inn.
CCCT Project Update 10/03/19
The Cross County Connector Trail is progressing very nicely and ahead of schedule. Even though the trail looks finished there is a lot to be completed. Paving will continue, trees will be planted, sings and stripping will be installed and final inspection will be performed before the trail is opened.
Please have patience and understanding that all parts of this trail are under construction and no pedestrians are permitted on the boardwalk or trail within the construction area for your safety.
Status of Project Completion as of 10.3.19:
Construction is currently 93% completed.
The project is on schedule and trail will be substantial completion soon. The County will announce the Cross County Connector Trail opening date soon.
CCCT Project Update 08/28/19
Even though the trail looks like it is ready for use the trail is still under construction.
The boardwalk construction is completed and asphalt paving has started. Utilities have been relocated and some of the new guardrail is installed with additional guardrail to be installed later in the construction phase. Rough grading and fine grading are will continue throughout the trail.
Please have patience and understanding that all parts of this trail are under construction and no pedestrians are permitted on the boardwalk or trail within the construction area for your safety. The project is progressing and is on schedule to be completed and open by Fall 2019.

CCCT Upcoming Project Work Update 07/12/19
Currently all of the piles for the boardwalk are installed and most of the boardwalk decking is completed. Please have patience and understanding that all parts of this trail are under construction and NO PEDESTRIANS are permitted within the construction area for your safety. The project is progressing and is on schedule to be completed and open by Fall 2019.
On Tuesday July 16th from 6:30AM to 3:00PM flagging operations will be cond...ucted along Kent Narrows Road to install stringers for the boardwalk.

CCCT upcoming project work, week of April 29
The Exit Ramp 42 closure is now completed. Flagging operations in this area along Kent Narrows Road will be required for short periods of time only on material delivery days to supply materials for the boardwalk construction.
Pile driving for the boardwalk at the intersection of Kent Narrows Way North and Kent Narrows Road started on April 25. Pile driving in this area is expected to be completed on May 30th. Flagging operation will be in place during this time to maintain traffic flow.
CCCT upcoming project work, week of April 22
Ramp closure for pile installation is on schedule and anticipated to be completed by the end of this week. After the exit ramp closure is removed, flagging operations will be required along Kent Narrows Road to supply materials for the boardwalk construction.
On Thursday April 25th pile driving for the boardwalk will begin at the intersection of Kent Narrows Way North and Kent Narrows Road. Flagging operation will be in place during this time to maintain traffic flow.
The existing Cross Island Trail adjacent to Kent Narrows Road (directly under US Rout 50 Kent Narrows Bridge) will be close until the Cross County Connector Trail construction is completed. The pedestrian traffic on the trail will be directed around the construction to the parking area under the bridge. See map below

CCCT Upcoming project work, week of April 1
SHA District-2 has agreed to REVISE the permit day time closures of exit ramp 42 to 7am to 5pm (These closures will not be permitted during peak season beginning in May). Ramp closure for pile installation will be in place until the end of April, depending on weather and site conditions.
Extending the ramp closure time may reduce the number of days required for this exit ramp closure. After the exit ramp closure is removed, flagging operations will be required along Kent Narrows Road to supply materials for the boardwalk construction.
Since the exit ramp closure, pile driving has started at both ends of project. Several piles and boardwalk stringers have been installed along the Kent Narrows Road and the east end of the project.

Future schedule of work as of March 15
SHA District-2 has agreed to permit day time closures of exit ramp 42 from 7 am to 3 pm. (These closures will not be permitted during peak season beginning in May). Ramp closure for pile installation will be in place for approximately 20 working days, depending on weather and site conditions.
Monday, March 25- Day time closures of exit ramp 42 from 7 am to 3 pm will start on this day. Delmarva Power will temporarily remove the existing overhead street lighting electric wire on Monday March 25th. There will be no street lighting along Kent Narrows Road for approximately three weeks. A temporary construction entrance (SCE) will be installed and tree removal in the work zone.
Tuesday, March 26- Pile installation will begin along Kent Narrows Road for approximately 20 working days depending on weather and site conditions.
Week of April 22nd - pile driving along the Kent Narrows Road should be completed (again depending on weather and site conditions), contractor will be removing SCE and cleaning up the work zone. The boardwalk decking installation for this area will not require any road closures.
