How to Redeem Your Property
Properties sold at tax sale can be redeemed by following these steps:
- Call the Department of Budget & Finance - Treasury Division at 410-758-0414 to receive the redemption amount and a good-through date. This information can only be given to the property owner or a person or entity that has an interest in the property.
- Redemptions must be paid in full by the good-through date given and certified funds are required. Certified funds include cashier's check, money order, or cash.
- A tax sale redemption certificate will be mailed to the redeemer of the property.
- All redemption payments are paid to the Department of Budget & Finance, including all legal fees that have been incurred by the bidder. Payments should not be made to any other party other than the Department of Budget & Finance per the Queen Anne's County Conditions of Tax Sale.
- Upon notice of the owner's intent to redeem the property, it is the responsibility of the bidder to advise the Department of Budget & Finance of all expenses incurred and paid in any action to foreclose the right of redemption.
